There Is A Block On My Head, Charlie Brown

The only way to break the block is to write about it, or take a picture of it, or paint it, or whatever.

The funny thing about having a creativity meltdown is all the listless energy comes with it. That is why most artists of whatever medium are a bit off their clocks. Drugs and alcohol are often the chosen methods burning off that energy, but lets be honest. Aren’t we all just a bit tired of that whole tortured artist routine?

Van Gogh had it locked for a while there, then Hitler came along to claim the “Psycho Painter of all Time” award. Lets face it nobody is ever going to top the way he worked off his creativity meltdown, and who would want to. William S. Burroughs took a break after shooting his wife, and Kurt Cobain took a break by shooting himself, instead of his wife.

So with self-mutilation, mass murder, plain old murder, and self-destruction off the table, that leaves us surviving, creating, consuming, and loathing.

Being misanthropic really sucks, and it’s not very entertaining. That is unless you are a musician, or some great writer, or some great whatever that no one understands. If you’re not great, if you’re just mediocre, or worse than that average, then misanthropy is just annoying, and nobody is amused by your bullshit attitude.
